Next, we must discuss the crucial transfer market, as Milan are currently in advanced negotiations with FC Porto over the sale of Mexican striker Santiago Giménez. Today, Giménez did not travel with the team to Poland for this friendly match due to both transfer developments and his ongoing injury recovery.

Milan are working to finalize a loan deal with an optional buyout clause with Porto. Porto's current coach is Farioli, who has been a consistent admirer of Giménez since June and identified him as a key transfer target, despite the club's public denials at the time. The reality is clear: negotiations are at an advanced stage, with both sides making steady progress and only minor details remaining before an official agreement is reached.

If this deal is completed, Gonçalo Ramos and the young Morata will be Milan’s two main attacking options next season. However, I believe that if Milan sell Santiago Giménez, the club absolutely must sign another striker. Relying solely on Ramos and Morata to carry the attack through a long season with multiple competitions would leave the team severely understaffed. If either were sidelined by injury or suspension, Milan’s attack would face a critical shortage. Therefore, if Giménez leaves, Milan must add a third forward.

Giménez is ready to leave Milan on loan with an optional buyout, but Milan have little negotiating power and must accept these terms. This means Milan will not receive any immediate Cash from his departure; the only financial benefit will be Porto covering his salary.

Beyond Giménez, another significant name is Christopher Nkunku, an important player Milan need to address. As mentioned in this morning's video, the French attacker is being closely monitored by two German clubs: RB Leipzig and Dortmund. Premier League side Newcastle and La Liga powerhouse Barcelona have also expressed interest. However, the most likely suitors remain Bundesliga sides Leipzig and Dortmund, both of whom hope to sign Nkunku on loan.

This is also a loan proposal, which explains why Christopher Nkunku was excluded from the squad for the match against Man United in Poland. He has likely been on vacation over the past few days and during the Assumption holiday. Head coach Amorim has clearly excluded him from his tactical plans, placing him on the departures list alongside Fofana, Tomori, and others. The list of fringe players to be moved on is well known.

Finally, attention should be paid to developments regarding Rafael Leao's transfer, as Turkish giants Galatasaray may soon submit an improved offer to Milan. Galatasaray previously offered 30 million euros plus 5 million euros in variable bonuses, which Milan firmly rejected. Milan's asking price for Leao is at least 50 million euros, but in my view, an offer of 40 to 45 million euros plus bonuses would bring Milan to the negotiating table, and a deal could be finalized within that range.

It is worth noting that the friendly match against Man United has concluded, marking Milan's final preseason friendly before the new Serie A season begins. Next week, Milan will open their league campaign with a home match against Torino. However, the next 15 days will be crucial for Milan. The club must finalize all incoming and outgoing transfers in this final half-month of the transfer window, particularly new signings. This friendly showed that Milan's squad depth needs strengthening, especially in defense, midfield, and attacking midfield. If Santiago Giménez leaves, the club must also address the striker position.
