Stellenbosch have completed a dramatic squad overhaul in the past three weeks, bringing in five new faces while seeing six players depart in what has been one of the most active windows in recent club history. The headline business came on August 4th when the Cape Winelands side secured a double raid on Kaizer Chiefs, signing both Ashley du Preez and Sphiwe Msimango in a bold statement of intent.

The arrivals of du Preez and Msimango represent significant coups for Stellenbosch, with both players bringing top-flight experience from one of South Africa's biggest clubs. The duo were joined by Kgaogelo Ramushu from Polokwane City and Surprise Nhlabathi from Baroka, both arriving on August 1st. Egyptian side Petrojet also sent Qobolwakhe Sibande on loan, completing the quintet of new additions by July 31st.

However, the window has not been without its losses. Orlando Pirates have strengthened their squad at Stellenbosch's expense, acquiring Thapelo Mokobodi on July 29th and Dublin Boon on August 13th. The departures to Pirates represent a blow to Stellenbosch's depth, with both players having established themselves in the squad.

The relationship with Kaizer Chiefs has been particularly active in both directions. While Stellenbosch landed du Preez and Msimango, they lost Langelihle Phili permanently on August 3rd and sent Faiz Abrahams on loan on August 7th. Devin Titus departed for Moroccan side Maghreb Fès on August 16th, while Muzomuhle Khanyi joined Chippa United on loan to round out the departures.

With five arrivals offsetting six exits, Stellenbosch have marginally reduced their squad size while clearly prioritizing quality reinforcements from established clubs. The signings from Kaizer Chiefs in particular suggest ambition to compete at a higher level, though losing talent to Orlando Pirates and back to Chiefs will test the effectiveness of this reshuffled roster as the season progresses.
