According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Como are close to signing Villarreal’s French centre-back Axel Kambwala.

The 21-year-old Kambwala progressed through Man United’s academy and made 10 appearances for the club’s first team. In the summer of 2024, he joined Villarreal for €10 million. Due to injury last season, he made only 2 appearances for the Yellow Submarine.

According to Romano, Kambwala has agreed personal terms with Como, and the Italian club is currently negotiating with Villarreal, with a deal close to being finalized.
