According to Real Madrid correspondent Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, Real Madrid has rejected Lille's approach for Thiago Pitarch.

Real Madrid reportedly rejected Lille’s pursuit of Thiago Pitarch as the Ligue 1 club seeks a potential replacement for Ayoub Boulahrouz.

The 19-year-old midfielder recently signed an improved contract with Real Madrid, and the club has no intention of allowing him to leave.

Boulahrouz is close to joining Man City, with both parties agreeing to a contract through 2031. The Athletic previously reported that the two clubs had reached an agreement on the deal, with a fixed transfer fee of €95 million plus an additional €5 million in add-ons.

Pitarch is Lille coach Davide Ancelotti’s preferred choice to replace the Morocco international.
