With Arsenal set to face Aston Villa away on the day before the transfer deadline next week, this is certainly a positive sign.

However, despite Arsenal's impressive performance after winning a trophy and beginning their title defence, several questions remain as there are fewer than eight days left before the transfer market closes. Not all incoming and outgoing deals may be resolved before the deadline.

The club's defensive priorities have been addressed. Konsa joined for a fixed fee of £51 million plus £4 million in add-ons on a four-year contract with an option to extend for another year. Mikel Arteta has secured a player capable of playing both right-back and centre-back, with considerable experience, composed passing ability, and defensive statistics that rival any other defender.
