Liverpool will face Nottingham Forest at Anfield in the second round of the Premier League.

According to statistics, Liverpool has remained unbeaten in their opening home Premier League match for 22 consecutive seasons since losing 2-1 to Chelsea in the 2003-04 season, recording 17 wins and 5 draws.

Over the past 13 Premier League seasons, Liverpool have won their opening home league match in 12 of them, with the only exception being a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in the 2022-23 season.

Nottingham Forest, however, have struggled in their opening away matches, winning just one of their first league away games in the past eight seasons, with 3 draws and 4 losses. Their only victory came with a 1-0 win against Southampton in the 2024-25 season.
