On August 29, according to renowned reporter Simon Jones of The Daily Mail, with only three days left in the transfer window, Manchester City is still competing with Tottenham Hotspur for Liverpool winger Gakpo, while also exploring the acquisition of Ndiaye from Everton.

Liverpool has made it clear that before considering selling Gakpo, they must first bring in at least two attacking players, and even then, a substantial transfer fee would be required to persuade them to release him.
Liverpool has not yet received a formal offer for Gakpo from Manchester City or Tottenham Hotspur. Gakpo started in Saturday's Premier League match against Nottingham Forest at home.
Manchester City is also simultaneously pushing to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea. Although there are rumours that Liverpool's Mac Allister is an alternative option, no contact has been made yet.
Meanwhile, Ndiaye's contract with Everton has three years remaining, and the transfer fee is expected to be around £80 million. He has rejected Everton's contract extension offer.
Tottenham Hotspur is also interested in Ndiaye, while Everton is also monitoring Jack Grealish from Manchester City.
