Manchester United officially announced that academy attacker James Scanlon has permanently transferred to Arsenal.

The 19-year-old Scanlon joined Manchester United as a first-year apprentice in 2023. The Gibraltar international made his senior international debut in March 2024 against Lithuania.

He was a key member of Manchester United's U18 team that won three trophies during the 2023-24 season and was called up to the first-team squad for the Europa League away match against Real Sociedad in March 2025.

Scanlon subsequently became a regular for the U21 team and joined Swindon Town on loan earlier this year, making 6 appearances and scoring 1 goal for the club.
