Michael Carrick insisted Manchester United are "always looking for more" as he refused to rule out more signings this summer.

Ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline for Premier League clubs, United have already brought in Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba to bolster their midfield, along with the free transfer of goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

United began their Premier League campaign with a shock 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Hull City, but bounced back with a 5-2 thrashing of Ipswich Town.

Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick and assisted Bryan Mbeumo, while an own goal from Jacob Greaves got the Red Devils over the line at Old Trafford.

United have won nine of their 10 Premier League games at Old Trafford in 2026 (L1), winning more points on home soil than any other side this calendar year (27).

They had 33 attempts on goal against Ipswich, their most in a Premier League match since October 2016 against Burnley (38).

Fernandes accounted for eight of those efforts, his joint-most in a single league game for the Red Devils.

Despite the dominant victory, which saw United climb up to 10th in the league, Carrick believes his side can still become stronger.

"We've done some fantastic business. With the money we've spent, we've done it very well. So far, we're happy. 

"You're always looking for more if you can do something else and make the most of the situation. 

"At the moment, the group's in a good place, and they want to fight for each other, which is important."

United face a trip to Everton next Sunday before beginning their Champions League campaign at home to Sabah on September 10.
