According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli forward Højlund gave a lengthy interview discussing his move to Napoli last summer and his relationship with Conte. Below are his key statements.

Højlund's Statement

"I think it was a positive step," Højlund said about joining Napoli. "I remember last year—I was in a difficult situation at Manchester United. I felt they no longer wanted me there. I had to evaluate my options, and Napoli was clearly the right decision. I had positive conversations with Conte and Manna, and so far, the experience has been fantastic."

Højlund then addressed contact with Milan: "Did the Rossoneri want me? Not really. I spoke with the club and was exploring opportunities. Milan certainly has a glorious history, but when I heard that Napoli wanted me and Conte called, I didn't hesitate for a second."

On working with Conte, he added: "My time with Conte has been great. He's helped me develop my game significantly—particularly my ability to hold up play with my back to goal. He's also allowed me to continue growing as a player. I hope to keep improving."
