The Dutch Football Association has contacted PSV Eindhoven youngster Amir Bouhamdi in an attempt to persuade him to represent the Netherlands in international competition.

According to Moroccan website Hespress, the Dutch FA was interested in Bouhamdi because he holds dual Moroccan and Dutch citizenship and has demonstrated great potential at PSV Eindhoven. PSV has a strong reputation for developing young talent through its academy.

The Dutch FA began pursuing the player early, viewing him as a future prospect for the national team. However, Bouhamdi has made his decision clear, choosing to represent Morocco instead of the Netherlands.

Bouhamdi has recently informed the Moroccan Football Association of his commitment to play for the Moroccan national team, ending the Dutch FA's efforts to secure his international future.

Bouhamdi continues to develop at PSV Eindhoven, where the club has extended his contract through summer 2031, demonstrating the confidence the management and coaching staff have in his potential.

Bouhamdi joined the PSV Eindhoven youth academy in 2017 at age 9 and has progressed steadily through the club's age-group teams, working his way toward the first team.
