According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mbappé was a Milan fan as a child and would throw the remote control at the TV when the team lost.

Mbappé recently spoke about his love for Milan in an interview with Sky Sports. The French player smiled before a match against Inter and said, "Of course I prefer Milan... but Inter is also a highly respected opponent, a strong team."
La Gazzetta dello Sport republished memories from Nicola and Beatrice Riccardi, an Italian family who once hosted young Mbappé for a summer. Beatrice recalled that three years ago, Mbappé played with her son Antonio: "Many things in the house were broken by them, but they would always hide things. I only found out afterward. Mbappé always had a ball at his feet. He played football almost all day, even with the neighbors in the garden, and they would organize games for birthday parties. They didn't want dessert; they preferred pizza. But Mbappé's favorite dish was still butter pasta."
One year, the Riccardi family gave Mbappé a Robinho Milan jersey. Mbappé's mother recalled: "He almost never took it off. When Milan lost, Mbappé would throw the remote control at the TV and say Italian swear words."
Mbappé also said in a 2023 interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport: "My connection with Milan is very special. When I was a child, I had an Italian nanny, and I spent a lot of time with her family, who were all Milan fans. Under their influence, I also became a Milan fan and watched many games."
