Colombian club Atlético Nacional announced the signing of James Rodríguez in a video posted on social media.

The club wrote on social media: "There's no announcement here — just work done out of love for this team. It's the work of many people, day after day, quietly giving everything to make Nacional greater and greater. When a club works for the club itself, greatness isn't a slogan — it's the inevitable result. They believed, they trusted, and it was all inevitable. James Rodríguez is a Nacional man. The greatest club welcomes the greatest player."
In February this year, James moved from Mexican club León to Minnesota United in MLS. He made 8 appearances for Minnesota, including 3 starts, and recorded 2 assists, before becoming a free agent in July.
With his move to Nacional, James returns to the Colombian league for the first time since leaving his boyhood club Envigado to join Banfield in Argentina — he has never played in the Colombian league since.
