Official news: Newcastle United have signed Reims goalkeeper Evan Jawand for a reported fee of £18.5 million.

Newcastle United officially announced that the club has completed the transfer of goalkeeper Evan Jawand from Reims, with both parties signing a long-term contract.

According to earlier reports, Evan Jawand's transfer fee to Newcastle was £18.5 million.

Evan Jawand, 20, joined Reims in the summer of 2023 after starting his career at Guingamp. In the second half of the 2023-24 season, he was loaned to Rodez; he was then loaned to Dunkerque for the 2024-25 season. During that season, he helped the team reach the semi-finals of the Coupe de France, where they were eventually defeated by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.

The French goalkeeper made 34 appearances for Reims in Ligue 2 last season, keeping 15 clean sheets, and has also played for the France U21 national team.
