On August 3, Schalke officially announced that the club has renewed the contract with 40-year-old forward Dzeko until 2027.

Edin Dzeko will continue to wear the Schalke 04 jersey next season. After a strong performance in the second half of the season for the team, the Bosnian national team captain signed a new one-year contract. Dzeko will return to Schalke next Tuesday (August 4) to participate in joint training. This summer, he represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Cup, which is his second appearance in the World Cup after 2014.

After joining the team from Fiorentina in January last year, Edin Dzeko became a key pillar for Schalke in their pursuit of a Bundesliga promotion spot. He made 11 appearances, contributing 6 goals and 3 assists.
