According to Greek media outlet Gazzetta, PAOK Thessaloniki midfielder Giannis Konstantelias has departed for Germany, where he will undergo a medical arranged by Borussia Dortmund and finalize the transfer. Including bonuses, the total value of this deal could reach up to 30 million euros.

On the morning of the 16th local time, the 23-year-old Konstantelias was originally scheduled to take an 8 AM flight, but due to ongoing negotiations between both parties regarding the transfer, the flight eventually departed for Borussia Dortmund after 9 AM.

Upon arriving in Germany, Konstantelias will undergo the necessary medical examinations. If all goes well, he will sign the long-term contract that has already been agreed upon with Borussia Dortmund. This will be the biggest transfer of Konstantelias' career to date and will also be one of the highest-value player sales in Greek football history.

The report states that Borussia Dortmund has secured Konstantelias' personal consent and reached an agreement with PAOK on the transfer, with the deal amount, including variable bonuses, potentially reaching up to 30 million euros.

Borussia Dortmund pushed very aggressively for this deal on Friday and Saturday. Previously, their negotiations with Cologne for the acquisition of Said Maouassa had fallen through, so they shifted all their attention to Konstantelias. Borussia Dortmund first fully persuaded the player to join, and then pushed for negotiations with PAOK, ultimately achieving a breakthrough.

Regarding personal terms, Borussia Dortmund offered Konstantelias a 4-year contract with an annual salary of 3.2 million euros after tax, plus bonuses.

Borussia Dortmund also provided Konstantelias with a detailed explanation of the team's sporting plans and the specific role the club envisioned for him, ultimately securing the player's consent.

The Bundesliga, the opportunity to participate in the UEFA Champions League group stage, and the prospect of playing in a top European football environment were all important factors that attracted Konstantelias.
