According to a report by Italian journalist Fabrizio Schira on August 27, Como striker Álvaro Morata is close to joining Spanish Segunda División club Leganés on a one-season loan deal.

The 33-year-old Morata joined Como on loan from Milan last summer. Under the agreement, Como signed him permanently for €12 million this summer. However, the Spanish forward underperformed last season, recording 0 goals and only 1 assist in 26 Serie A appearances.

According to Schira, Morata's loan move to Leganés is in the final stages. During the loan period, Como will cover most of his €5 million annual salary, plus bonuses.
