According to the latest report from Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic on September 2, Manchester United's move to sign young Leicester City midfielder Lewis Page has collapsed due to the two clubs failing to agree on a transfer fee.

Laurie Whitwell reported that Manchester United's pursuit of Lewis Page from Leicester City is set to fail. The two clubs had been negotiating a deal valued at over £10 million. According to reports, Leicester City's asking price was £12 million, potentially rising to £15 million.
Page was initially expected to return to Leicester City on loan this season, but the two sides failed to reach an agreement. Page will start for Russell Martin's Plymouth in tonight's League One fixture.
The 18-year-old midfielder has made 18 appearances for Leicester City's first team in the Championship this season, mostly coming off the bench. In Leicester City's last two matches, Page played the full 90 minutes in both a 3-1 League Cup loss to Ipswich and a 0-0 away draw against Milton Keynes Dons.
Page is a talented left-footed midfielder who can play as an number 8 or number 6. Arsenal also held talks with him regarding a transfer this summer. However, Page made clear that if he were to leave Leicester City, he wanted to join Manchester United. Since then, the two clubs have been attempting to agree on a transfer fee.
The total value of a deal could have exceeded the £12.5 million Leicester City received from Manchester City when selling 17-year-old winger Jeremie Manga. However, that transfer was delayed during this transfer window.
