In Serie A Round 3, Roma came from behind to beat Atalanta 2-1 at home. After the match, Gasperini was interviewed by DAZN.

Regarding this match
"There are some characteristics we've been showing for a while, and I'll never stop praising these lads. Today, if we had lost the match this way and then had to talk about it, it would have been very difficult—just look at the statistics. When we scored, we immediately gained momentum, even though there wasn't much time left in the game.
"The match became complicated. Our first-half advantage didn't translate into goals, then Ederson scored a brilliant shot, and Atalanta's players caused us problems on the counterattack. With the defensive adjustments we made, we were struggling less, and Soulé and Castro up front gave us a huge boost."
Why did you decide to substitute Malen?
"In the first half, we created many chances, but the three forwards weren't particularly effective in attack together. We were a bit sloppy with our final touch and shot quality, and perhaps the heat and some fatigue also played a role—after all, players aren't machines. Castro and Soulé were both very dynamic when they came on, and their arrival helped us."
Even when trailing, you never rushed play. Are you satisfied with that?
"Very satisfied. This was the most important factor in our comeback. We never abandoned our attacking organization, nor did we change how we maintained width and built into the attacking third. We kept our composure and played with players running forward. Carnesecchi made several excellent saves.
"I'll say it again: if we had lost the game, it would be difficult to evaluate this match positively. If I had to find a flaw, it would be that we lacked some bite and power in our shots. Those shots were a bit too soft, except for a couple of times when Castro hit the post. However, we always maintained a high level of composure."
Has Dybala once again become a player who can play a full 90 minutes? Considering the Champions League, how will you manage personnel next?
"It's fine now, because we have a game on Thursday, and then we don't play until the following Monday, so there's a slightly longer break in between. There was a period after the international break where we might face a Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday schedule with high-intensity Champions League and league matches. But we'll think about that when it comes. What I always hope for is to avoid injuries, and then we will obviously need to rotate. We'll do that, even in difficult matches."
Your embrace with the Atalanta players after the game was heartwarming.
"For me, these embraces are always special. Now I have a very good relationship with these lads at Roma, but the years I spent with the Atalanta players are an inseparable bond. This bond was built through years of working together and will never disappear."
