According to Italian media outlet ForzaRoma, after the Roma vs. Atalanta match, Atalanta CEO and Lega Serie A Vice President Luca Percassi clashed with Roma Sporting Director Toni D'Amico outside the Stadio Olimpico, verbally assaulting him and requiring intervention from on-site security and police.

According to the report, after the match, D'Amico was leaving the Stadio Olimpico when Percassi began verbally abusing him. Several eyewitnesses said D'Amico appeared shocked but did not respond, instead continuing toward the parking area near the Monte Mario Stand entrance.

However, Percassi did not stop. According to reports, he pursued D'Amico as far as Via dei Gladiatori, continuing his verbal assault until on-site staff and police intervened.

The report suggests the conflict may stem from D'Amico's recent departure from Atalanta to join Roma. Additionally, Atalanta conceding a stoppage-time goal to Soulé during the match may have intensified Percassi's emotions.

D'Amico's move from Atalanta to Roma this summer was complicated. While Atalanta had already appointed Giuntoli as their new sporting director, D'Amico's departure was delayed, with Roma only officially announcing his appointment several days later.

Notably, D'Amico had spoken positively about his time at Atalanta just four days before this incident.

Roma has clearly sided with D'Amico regarding this incident. According to reports, the club will support its sporting director and is prepared to defend him on all appropriate occasions.
