According to Sport1, Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen commented on the booing directed at Neuer during Bayern's away match against Schalke 04.

Dreesen said: "After 15 years, I think it's completely unnecessary. Neuer has played many outstanding matches for this country and, as the national team goalkeeper, has contributed greatly. I don't think he would have achieved his current position if he had stayed at Schalke. I think it's normal for a goalkeeper of his caliber to make different choices later on."

Dreesen believes the booing is "unnecessary," but he also doesn't think the situation will change in the future: "This ritual will always exist. It's as certain as 'Amen' in church."

Sport1 expert Stefan Effenberg noted that when Neuer transferred from Schalke 04 to Bayern in 2011, it also provoked angry reactions from fans, with "Neuer traitor" being a key phrase. Effenberg stated: "We can't forget how he was received when he joined Bayern. It wasn't friendly. But now that attitude has changed, and that's what matters most to him."

Effenberg also recalled his own experiences as a controversial player: "I always saw all of that as motivation. We had a similar situation with Oliver Kahn back then. Someone threw 500 bananas into his penalty area before he warmed up. I spoke with him many times afterward: you have to see this as motivation, find motivation from within. That's very important."

Neuer told Sport1 on Saturday that the booing doesn't hurt him: "It's love, I know. It's actually a compliment."

Neuer was born in Gelsenkirchen, developed through Schalke 04's youth academy, and became a professional player at Schalke 04. In 2011, he transferred to Bayern—a move that provoked strong backlash from Schalke fans—and continued to be booed in the years that followed. Even among Bayern's core supporters, given his past as a loyal Schalke fan, he has remained a controversial figure.
