Former England international Sheringham believes that Kane will not win the Ballon d'Or due to his underwhelming performances in the Champions League and FIFA World Cup.

Sheringham told talkSPORT that Kane is not yet qualified to win the Ballon d'Or this year.

"Would I vote for him? I don't think so," he said on the show. "I think he's had a fantastic season, but usually the Ballon d'Or winner wins the Champions League or the FIFA World Cup, or wins the most important competition at the time. He hasn't managed to do that, so in my opinion, he's just a runner-up. Sorry, Harry!"

Sheringham backs Rodri to win the Ballon d'Or again: "He's a leader, and his teams usually win every week. Manchester City, Spain. I know he's moved on now, but whoever he plays for, that team will win."
