According to Sky Sports, Atalanta coach Maurizio Sarri expressed regret over the team's 1-2 defeat to Cagliari but said he was far less concerned than after previous matches.

Sarri said in an interview with Sky Sports after the match: "In Rome, we had a chance to win, but it wasn't a 'Sarri-style' performance. Unlike tonight, that game showed better intensity, pressing, and dominance. We pushed the opponent deep and created 22 shots, but we made mistakes and lacked precision in finishing. Nevertheless, I saw a more solid foundation than before."
"Will the international break help us? Between 23 and 27 players from the first team and U23 squad will be away on international duty, leaving us with very few players to work with. Basically, we can do nothing during that period. Tonight I'm far less concerned than I've been in recent matches. The team's physical condition is improving, and in terms of creating chances, we should have converted more opportunities."
Sarri added: "Although Kessié and Rovella had played very little before, I can see the team's physical condition is clearly improving. In the final stages, it was like there was a wall in the penalty area—not easy to break down—but we already have a foundation that can continue to develop. I am very sorry; I feel for the players and fans. But I'm far less worried now than I was after the previous matches."
When asked whether Gaetano's suspension affected the team, Sarri said: "Gianluca performed very well, but Kessié did not disappoint. He hasn't played much since the World Cup and only recently returned to training. There's no doubt he will become very important to us, just like Gaetano."
