Nottingham Forest are in talks over a deal for Barcelona midfielder Marcus McGuane.

The former Arsenal star, 20, has been playing for Telstar in Holland’s second division under ex-Gunners coach Andries Joncker after being loaned out by Barcelona for the season and has attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs.

Promotion chasing Forest are looking to add four players to their squad over the next fortnight.

McGuane is in the process of having his loan cut short and will be recalled by Barcelona before being loaned out again and Forest his likely destination.

Forest are also signing Adama Diakhaby from Huddersfield Town while losing defender Jack Robinson to Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder’s side are giving a trial to 19-year old Monaco forward Gobe Gouano.
