AFCON 2025 takes a blow for Algeria as Jaouen Hadjam will miss the rest of the competition.

The 22-year-old left-back injured his ankle during the group-stage match against Burkina Faso on December 28, leaving the pitch after just thirteen minutes.
The Algerian medical staff quickly took charge of the player, who then underwent an MRI scan on December 30 to assess the severity of the injury.
AFCON 2025 will therefore continue without the Young Boys Bern defender. The Algerian Football Federation confirmed on Monday that Hadjam cannot resume the tournament and will return to Switzerland for treatment with his club.
His absence comes at a crucial moment, as Algeria prepares to face DR Congo this Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Round of 16.
