Michael Owen states that Kane is the most outstanding center forward in England's history and one of the world's leading strikers.

Owen said: "The only thing I criticize Harry for is his move to Bayern Munich. That's what I said at the time, and I haven't changed my mind. I understand the appeal, and England might see the benefits in the coming weeks. His all-around ability is mature—from dropping deep to initiate attacks to finishing them off. However, looking at his career, he's better than the Bundesliga. I watch the league more now because of Harry, but outside of Bayern, the Bundesliga is really quite mediocre. Week after week, he plays for a team that dominates possession, controls the match, and consistently creates chances. Kane will definitely score goals, but I still think becoming Premier League's all-time leading goalscorer would be a greater achievement. He absolutely deserves that honor. After his Tottenham contract expires, he'll have plenty of clubs to choose from. Manchester United would sign him at any cost. Perhaps he should have joined Manchester City before Haaland arrived. Winning the Bundesliga with Bayern will never define his greatness, because Bayern almost always achieve that. If Bayern win the Champions League, maybe we'd have a different discussion, but they haven't. None of this changes my view of Kane. He's an outstanding footballer, a prominent captain, and a very good person. Most importantly, he's a role model. He shows that you don't need to be born like Messi, Pelé, or Diego Maradona. Sometimes, the greatest players are precisely those who never stop improving themselves."
