Como's sporting director Carlalberto Ludi was interviewed by TuttoMercatoWeb at the opening of the summer transfer market in Rimini.

On Como's transfer progress, Ludi stated that the club's work has been underway for some time. "Based on the transfers we've completed and the ongoing activities, I can say things are going well. Nico Paz's extension hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but we hope it will be announced within hours. This is extremely positive and symbolic for the Como community and the entire project. It's remarkable when a talented player of Nico's caliber wants to stay. We're delighted and hope to finalize everything in the coming days, then move forward from there."

When asked if he was concerned about Inter Milan's interest in Paz, or confident the player would choose Como, Ludi said: "I understand what the outside world writes and says about an exceptional player like Nico Paz. The truth is, we don't focus on what others do, but on what we can control. What we can control is our relationship with Real Madrid and our relationship with Nico and his representatives. We know both sides have had two excellent seasons together, and we've prepared our case well for negotiations."

Ludi also spoke about the player's willingness to continue Como's project: "I think this is crucial. First, thanks to Nico's willingness, and also Fàbregas's quality and inspiration. For players of his caliber, Fàbregas is a strategic factor. Combined with the chairman's vision and determination, I believe these three elements are decisive in Nico ultimately staying at Como. That said, I must be cautious, as nothing is officially confirmed yet."

On whether Como has an advantage in negotiations and whether he truly worries about Inter Milan's involvement, Ludi said: "We never focus on things we can't control. We can't control Real Madrid's will, nor Nico's. When both sides agree he stays at Como, we know we have a real opportunity. There have been very meaningful meetings in this phase, and ultimately, we're satisfied with how things are developing."

When asked about exploring new market avenues and whether Trevoh Chalobah is a target, especially with Inter Milan also interested, Ludi said: "Absolutely not. We operate on a different level than others, and we won't compete with anyone. We'll do our work with ambition while remaining humble. These two words might seem contradictory, but they're not. We're simply learning from Inter Milan. They're Serie A champions with an excellent management team and one of the most talented squads in European football. So there's no competing narrative here."

On whether Chalobah is a Como target, Ludi replied: "I only call a player a target when I begin negotiations. Currently, there are no negotiations whatsoever."

Discussing Liberati, Ludi praised him: "Liberati is an exceptional Italian talent. He has great potential and is a player Italian football should focus on developing and be proud of."
