Israeli youngster Halili is set to join Serie A champions Inter Milan, with a deal agreed and medical checks underway in Milan. His father has been interviewed about the transfer.

His father spoke about the impending transfer in an interview with Haaretz.

"No one is more level-headed than Halili: he's quite excited but in a good state of mind. Another chapter awaits him, where he needs to prove his worth. We are extremely happy and still can't believe it's happening. This is not an ordinary transfer; it's incredible. In terms of club caliber, transfer fee, and player age, this could be the biggest deal in Israeli football history. It's unbelievable, and I still can't believe it. I knew he would reach a certain level eventually, but joining Inter Milan at 22? I never expected that."

His father revealed he first realized this deal could actually happen about two weeks ago, when Palestra—a player Inter Milan had previously monitored—signed with Chelsea.

"The moment Palestra signed with Chelsea, Halili became Inter Milan's first, second, and third choice; no one else. They did everything to get him. Halili always believed he belonged at such a stage. He still feels he can take one more step. He dreams of Liverpool: even if you put Barcelona in front of him, he would still want Liverpool. He wants to play at Anfield, even though the San Siro has greater seating capacity."

Halili's father also spoke about the challenges of joining Inter Milan, acknowledging it "won't be easy."

"This is one of the best teams, top caliber in Europe. Two Champions League finals in four years, two Serie A titles in four years, ranking in the world's top eight. The pressure will be immense, but a player must perform under pressure. If he can't handle it, that's his problem. But I believe in him."

Upon signing, Halili will become the most expensive Israeli player in history. The previous record belonged to Munas Dabbur, who transferred from Red Bull Salzburg to Sevilla for approximately €17 million. Gloukh ranks third, transferring from Salzburg to Ajax for around €15 million. Dabbur's €12 million transfer from Sevilla to Hoffenheim ranks fourth, and Eyal Berkovic's approximately €9 million move from West Ham United to Celtic ranks fifth.
