Dovbyk recently explained his decision to transfer from Roma to Bologna, stating that Bologna's ambition and the personal appeal of new coach Tedesco were key factors.

The Ukrainian forward spoke through Fiorentina Viola-related channels, having joined Bologna at the Dall'Ara stadium as part of the Santiago Castro transfer to Roma. He then gave an interview to Bologna's official channels, clarifying the reasons for his move.
He revealed that Tedesco's communication style was direct and refreshing. "I chose Bologna, thanks to the sporting directors and also to coach Tedesco," Dovbyk said.
"He only asked me one question: 'Do you want to play for Bologna?' I replied 'yes,' and then we talked. He told me about the club's plans and the team's ambition to achieve excellent results this season."
Dovbyk hopes for a resurgence at Bologna, a club known for developing forwards.
For a forward who endured a difficult period in the capital, Roma, Bologna's appeal is clear. In recent years, Bologna has become known for its ability to develop attacking players. Dovbyk, who previously played for Girona and won the La Liga Golden Boot, hopes to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors and regain his best form.
"I know that many forwards who have played here have made great progress," he said. "I will do my best to help the team by scoring many goals. I am ambitious and eager to play, hoping to return to my peak form."
Upon arriving, he was also impressed by the team atmosphere. "My first impression is that this is a very united group, almost like a family," Dovbyk added. "Everyone fights for each other, and there are many individually talented players in the team. I have played against Bologna many times before, and those games were always tough."
