Reports indicate that the real reason behind the stalled transfer of RB Leipzig forward Jean-Diomande to Real Madrid is an agent dispute, with FIFA now investigating.

According to AS, the delay in the official announcement of Jean-Diomande's transfer to Real Madrid is due to a dispute between agents. On one side is Max Gradel and his company Maxidel Management, and on the other is Roc Nation, a powerful multinational agency owned by rapper Jay-Z. Roc Nation is currently handling Diomande's affairs, but because Real Madrid negotiated with Roc Nation, Maxidel Management has filed a complaint with FIFA, alleging breach of contract.
Maxidel Management is the agency that facilitated the Ivorian winger's move from Leganes to RB Leipzig last year. This dispute is not just an internal conflict between two companies; it is a significant issue directly affecting the transfer between RB Leipzig and Real Madrid. According to FIFA regulations, this could directly impact the registration of the talented winger. Real Madrid was previously unaware of this situation and is not involved, so the club believes they will ultimately receive a fair ruling. However, until then, they must deal with the current situation.
A possible solution for now might be to issue a temporary license for Jean-Diomande, allowing the player to be eligible to play while the dispute over a portion of the financial sums involved in the total transfer amount is resolved. This is because, apart from this disputed portion, almost all other aspects have been finalized: the amount to be paid to RB Leipzig and the payment method have been agreed upon, relevant documents are ready, and the new contract between the player and Real Madrid has also been finalized.
The key now lies with FIFA's stance. As the highest governing body in world football, FIFA has extremely strict regulations regarding the conduct and operations of agents and agencies, and it strives to enforce them rigorously. FIFA has now received the complaint and is reviewing it. If there is an open dispute between agents regarding a player's representation, FIFA may delay, or even in extreme cases, refuse to register the signing in its system. Additionally, clubs also want to maintain clear procedures, as they could face penalties if commissions are paid to the wrong agents.
Diomande is at the center of this office clash. Maxidel Management was responsible for orchestrating the star player's move to RB Leipzig. It seems neither a coincidence nor an oversight that this agency prominently displays a photo of Diomande signing with the energy drink club on its social media account. The photo also features Maxidel Management's chief agent, Jean-Martial Lobo. RB Leipzig dealt with Maxidel Management and was granted permission by the company to negotiate with the young winger.
In contrast, Diomande expressed his desire to join Roc Nation a few months ago, aiming to become one of the most promising young stars in its lineup, given the agency's deep roots in the industry. Roc Nation has a strong operational base in Brazil, managing the careers of players like Vinicius Jr. and Endrick through Frederico Pena, and this is where the conflict originated.
During a vacation in the United States after the World Cup, the African star visited Roc Nation's New York office and was invited to watch Jay-Z perform at Yankee Stadium—Jay-Z had also warmly greeted him pitchside before Brazil's World Cup match against Ivory Coast. The entire trip was accompanied by Michael Yormark, President of the company's International Sports Division.
Real Madrid negotiated with Roc Nation and is currently waiting for this agent conflict to be resolved as soon as possible. Diomande himself is also waiting; he is currently in RB Leipzig, but his thoughts have already returned to the Spanish capital.
