Official news: Premier League promoted club Coventry has permanently signed goalkeeper Rushworth from Brighton & Hove Albion. The transfer fee is reportedly £22.5 million, setting a new club record.

Coventry officially announced that the club has signed Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Carl Rushworth for an undisclosed transfer fee. Both parties have signed a long-term contract, and Rushworth has officially become a member of the Sky Blues.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper needs no introduction to Coventry fans. During his loan spell at Coventry last season, he won the Championship Golden Glove award with 17 clean sheets.

During that unforgettable championship campaign, Rushworth played in all 46 of the team's league matches and had a significant impact both on and off the field.

Before joining Coventry last season, Rushworth had previously been on loan at Worthing, Walsall, Lincoln City, Swansea, and Hull City.

According to previous reports, Coventry will pay a transfer fee of £22.5 million for Rushworth, with the total value of the deal potentially approaching £30 million with additional add-ons and installments.

Rushworth has surpassed Amenda, who joined Coventry from Eintracht Frankfurt for £17 million, to become the club's new record signing.
