According to Japan's Kyodo News, the Japan Football Association (JFA) is investigating four Japanese referees over allegations that the Korea Football Association (KFA) offered sexual favors to foreign referees and match supervisors.

According to previous reports from South Korean media, two of the four Japanese referees who officiated a 2012 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier third-round match between South Korea and Kuwait allegedly accepted sexual favors.

It is reported that most of the referees accused of accepting favors at that time have since retired, but some of these Japanese referees currently hold positions within the JFA, serving as J-League referee management officials.

The JFA plans to announce the results of its investigation into the referees suspected of accepting sexual favors at a later date.
