Rooney has found a new job – he will co-host a Manchester United podcast with talkative fan Mark Goldbridge. The Manchester United legend will team up with the viral fan for a new show called "Stick to United".

The 40-year-old Rooney's new gig comes after Disney+ spent millions of pounds to acquire the broadcasting rights to Gary Neville's "The Overlap."

The streaming platform also finalized a major partnership, positioning Neville's brand to compete with Netflix and Gary Lineker's "Rest is Football."

The new Manchester United-themed show will have 50 episodes, co-hosted by Rooney and Goldbridge.

It will air alongside Neville's main show, "Stick to Football."

That podcast will continue to feature regulars Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright, and Michael Keane.

All shows will be available on Disney+, and will also continue to be uploaded directly to YouTube, with subscribers getting early access to an additional 20 exclusive episodes before they are released to the public.

Speaking about the new partnership, Neville insisted it would not affect their "identity."

He stated: "We are incredibly proud to partner with Disney+.

"This collaboration expands our reach without compromising our identity.

"What's even more exciting is that we haven't changed who we are.

"Our community will continue to watch our content on YouTube as they always have.

"Meanwhile, Disney+'s vast global streaming audience will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy this content for the first time."

Goldbridge has already begun exchanging banter with Rooney on social media.

He wrote: "Hey Wazza, need a lift in the morning mate?"

The post was a nod to Rooney's iconic 2011 tweet, where he said the same to Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand.

Rooney will also be a regular guest on "The Overlap," having appeared multiple times as a guest previously.

Disney+ has also acquired the rights to a new documentary called "The Real Rooneys," which will tell the story of his life.
