According to Bild, all eyes will be on Jürgen Klopp on Saturday. It will be the first time he attends a major match in person as Germany's national coach. At 8:30 PM local time on Saturday, he will be at the stadium to watch Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich in the German Supercup.

Not only that, but before the match, Klopp will also get in touch with his former club, Borussia Dortmund. During his tenure as Borussia Dortmund coach from 2008 to 2015, he led the team to two league titles and won the German Cup.
There will be a phone call on Thursday afternoon. Klopp and Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovač have arranged to speak. Kovač unexpectedly revealed this arrangement at the pre-match press conference: "We expect to talk around 3 PM, I can say that much now. I hope Jürgen isn't angry that I revealed it early."
What will be discussed during this call? Kovač explained: "It's clear that we will cooperate. Because Jürgen certainly needs to rely on us, and also on the Bundesliga clubs and coaches. He will get the information he needs to make the final decision. Of course, the decision will still be his, but it will also be made in cooperation with us."
Currently, potential Germany national team candidates from Borussia Dortmund include midfielder Felix Nmecha, center-back Waldemar Anton, and forward Maximilian Beier. Captain Nico Schlotterbeck, who suffered a ligament tear during the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, has not yet returned.

Kovač and Klopp faced each other as players in their early careers, when they played for Hertha Berlin and Mainz respectively. Kovač laughed and said: "We played against each other a few times in Mainz and Berlin back when we were in the 2. Bundesliga. But I don't remember whose record was better. I don't think either of us was particularly successful back then."
In 2019, they met again as coaches in the Champions League match between Bayern and Liverpool. A misunderstanding arose due to the lack of a handshake. Klopp said at the time: "I stood there, completely baffled." It later turned out to be just a misunderstanding. Kovač now says: "We faced each other when Bayern played Liverpool, and Liverpool later won the Champions League. Well, everyone knows the result of that. Apart from that, I believe we will have very good cooperation. Jürgen worked at Borussia Dortmund, he knows this club inside out and understands exactly how everything works here. As long as we can help, we will support him."
