According to Bild, RB Leipzig are still making final adjustments to their squad for the new season, but there has been no substantial progress in the transfer market over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, the club generated €250,000 in revenue from selling the container buildings previously used as temporary offices. Before the transfer window closes, Leipzig ideally wants to sign up to three more players, while up to six players could also leave.

The management of RB Leipzig, Marcel Schäfer, Sebastian Schuppan, and Daniel Beier, as well as Zsolt Löw and Mario Gomez from the Red Bull global system, are currently working hard to finalize the squad for the new season. However, Leipzig has not made any moves in the transfer market for two consecutive weeks. At the same time, the club completed an asset disposal off the field. The container buildings, previously located at the entrance of the training ground and used as temporary offices, have now been sold to an Austrian external company.
According to Bild, Leipzig received €250,000 for this. The three-story building covers an area of 2,600 square meters and consists of 180 containers. Demolition work is expected to continue until April 2027.
During the Europa Conference League final at the end of May this year, UEFA also used this area. These containers have been idle since December 2025. At that time, approximately 350 club employees had moved into the new €60 million office building. These containers were set up at the Leipzig training ground in 2019 and expanded in 2021.
In terms of transfer operations, with 12 days remaining until the window closes, Leipzig ideally still hopes to sign up to three players: a number 6 or 8 midfielder, a winger, and a striker. At the same time, up to six players may also leave the team.
El Mala (19, Köln):
Leipzig hopes to sign this German attacking prospect as a replacement for Jan Diomande and has inquired about the player with Köln. However, Leipzig will not submit a direct offer, which is common in the industry. According to Bild, Mala will not be on today's flight from Köln to Leipzig. But all parties are currently under time pressure and must make a decision as soon as possible.
Previously, Mala's move to Dortmund fell through because Dortmund was unwilling to pay Köln's requested base transfer fee of €50 million. Some within Leipzig also expressed doubts about the feasibility of this deal. As the transfer window approaches its close, Köln's asking price may continue to rise, and if the overall package exceeds €60 million, the deal could fall through entirely.
Nkunku (28, Milan):
The French player played for RB Leipzig for four years from 2019 to 2023, and Leipzig now hopes to bring him back to the team. As previously reported, the current discussion is about a loan. Nkunku can play multiple positions in attack and can also play as a center forward, as he has recently. However, Nkunku still has offers from other clubs and has asked for time to consider them. But for Leipzig, there isn't much time left to wait.
Geertruida to join PSV on loan
Leipzig will finally see its first player leave this summer. The 26-year-old defender Geertruida will join PSV on loan, with a €15 million buy-out option included in the contract. Since Tuesday evening, the World Cup participant has been in the Netherlands, and both sides are still finalizing the last details. The deal is expected to be officially announced on Friday. In addition, according to Bild, 26-year-old Elmas is also close to returning to Italy.
30-year-old Klostermann, 21-year-old Vermeeren, 21-year-old Konrad-Harder, and 18-year-old Souleymane Sane are also considered likely to leave. Among them, Nigerian player Sane only just joined Leipzig in the winter transfer window this year. In contrast, 20-year-old Tidiam Gomis and 19-year-old Andrija Maksimović are expected to stay. According to Bild, head coach Martín Demichelis has made it clear that he wants these two young players to remain with the team.
