According to Portuguese newspaper 'A Bola', Renato Sanches is very close to returning to Portugal, joining Estrela da Amadora.

News emerged this Friday that the Portuguese international might sign for Getafe in Spain, but 'A Bola' learned that Renato is in advanced negotiations with Estrela da Amadora, and the deal could be finalized in the coming hours.
If the agreement is confirmed, all indications are that the midfielder will sign a one-season contract.
It should be noted that Renato Sanches had terminated his contract with Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer window closed, so he can still be registered by Estrela da Amadora as a free agent.
It is also worth noting that the new chairman of Estrela da Amadora SAD, Johannes Moser, worked at Bayern Munich for ten years and previously worked with Renato Sanches at that German club, which may play a role in the Portuguese international's return to the Primeira Liga.
In 2019, when Renato terminated his contract with Bayern and subsequently moved to Lille, Johannes Moser even posted a photo with the Portuguese on social media, leaving a farewell message: "I will miss you very much, brother! All the best for your future, friend!" he wrote at the time.
The 35-year-old Moser replaced Paulo Lobo as the highest representative of the investment group that acquired a majority stake in the club. The group is associated with players Thomas Müller, Yann Sommer, and Lucas Hernández, as well as retired footballer Mats Hummels.
Renato Sanches joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2022 from Lille for 28 million euros. In his first season in the French capital, he made 27 appearances and scored 2 goals, but has since been on loan: 2023/24 season at Roma – 12 appearances, 1 goal; 2024/25 season at Benfica – 21 appearances, 1 goal; 2025/26 season at Panathinaikos – 24 appearances, 1 goal, 1 assist.
The Portuguese international still had one year left on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, but he was not in the plans of the two-time European Cup champions and reached an agreement with sporting director Luis Campos to end their partnership early.
Now, the 29-year-old is close to returning to Portugal, a destination that may be surprising but could also reflect the ambitions of the newly revamped Estrela da Amadora.
Despite a considerable number of appearances in recent seasons – except for his time at Roma – the midfielder has not been able to recapture the performance level he showed early in his career. It was that early brilliance that led Bayern Munich to pay Benfica 35 million euros for him in 2016.
Renato Sanches has earned 32 caps for the Portuguese national team and won the European Championship with Portugal exactly ten years ago.
