Regarding transfer rumors linking Karim Benzema to Bayer Leverkusen, German newspaper "Bild" interviewed the club's sporting director, Simon Rolfes.

Benzema recently terminated his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. According to "DZfoot" reporter Ilias Kadouri, there has been direct contact between Benzema and Bayer Leverkusen.
Reports also suggest that Benzema is in communication with Bayer Leverkusen player Moussa Diaby and Lucas Vazquez, both former Real Madrid teammates. Benzema is said to be interested in Leverkusen's project, with his social media follow of the club seemingly supporting this narrative.
But how credible are these rumors?
Rolfes was clear: "Our squad is already set."
This indicates that signing Benzema is not currently part of Bayer Leverkusen's plans. The club's attacking options are already strong, featuring striker Patrik Schick (30), defender Odilon Kossounou (25), and forward Victor Boniface (25), who is recovering from a serious knee injury.
While Benzema's arrival would undoubtedly be a major signing for the Bundesliga and his winning mentality could benefit the squad, Rolfes has ruled out the transfer.
Last week, a potential move for Benzema to Lyon also fell through.
