According to Kicker, Eren Dinkçi, who returned to Werder Bremen on loan this summer, spoke about his return, the family difficulties caused by his wife's leukemia diagnosis, and his personal growth over the past three years. He stated that returning to Bremen was a mutual wish for both him and his wife, and that he is no longer the extremely introverted person he once was.

It has been 31 days since Dinkçi officially returned to Bremen, but he said, "It still feels like a national team break." Dinkçi, who was born in Bremen, said that even though he left the team three years ago, he actually returned there frequently on weekends without matches, and now he has truly come home.

The 24-year-old Dinkçi is currently on loan to Bremen from Freiburg for one season. When asked if he would be willing to stay long-term in the future, he said, "If I could stay, I wouldn't object. Why not? This is my home, and I feel most comfortable here. But of course, I also know that I still have a contract with Freiburg, and it's not that simple to leave there."

Compared to the distant future, Dinkçi's return this time is more about addressing immediate challenges, including his family situation. Dinkçi's wife is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia.

He said, "This was a mutual wish for both of us. Many people misunderstood it as me making this transfer solely for her, but that's not the case."

However, his wife's desire to be near family and friends was indeed a significant factor in his return. Dinkçi said, "Of course, she also wants to be with her family and friends. The burden we used to bear alone can now be shared by more people, and that's our goal—and it's working well so far."

His wife's treatment can also continue in Bremen. Dinkçi said, "Most importantly, there's a hospital here that can continue her specialized treatment."

Facing such a family situation, Dinkçi admitted, "This is a difficult situation, and I don't need to hide that." However, now that his family can help the couple share the burden, he can refocus more attention on football.

But he admitted that he can't always fully concentrate on the game: "Sometimes, of course, my attention is distracted, and I don't think anyone should blame me for that. But as soon as the ball starts rolling, I forget everything." However, when training stops, many things still resurface in his mind.

Regarding his return to Bremen, Dinkçi said he always had a feeling that he "hadn't finished his mission here yet." "If I were to transfer, I only wanted to return to Werder Bremen from the beginning. The whole process was indeed a difficult struggle."

During this time, other clubs also approached Dinkçi, but he rejected all of them and waited for Bremen to finally give the green light for the deal. He said, "It turns out my patience paid off."

In the three years since leaving Bremen, Dinkçi played for Heidenheim and Freiburg. He believes he has changed significantly both in terms of his football and his personality.

Dinkçi said, "Before, my playing style was relatively simple, but now I think I have a good understanding of the game, and I was developed by Frank Schmidt."

Regarding his personality, he said, "I lived alone in Heidenheim for a year, which forced me out of my comfort zone and helped me understand myself better. I am no longer the extremely introverted Eren Dinkçi I used to be."

Now, Dinkçi and fellow returning player Niklas Füllkrug are also expected to help rekindle the team's sense of belonging. Dinkçi said, "I think the two of us can indeed bring back some sense of identity with the club."

Finally, Dinkçi emphasized his commitment to wearing the Bremen jersey again: "I will definitely give more than 100% for this badge on my chest."
