Werder Bremen has signed Cedric Itten from Fortuna Düsseldorf on a free transfer. The 29-year-old Swiss forward departed Fortuna Düsseldorf as a free agent to join Bremen. Werder Bremen's director of professional football, Peter Niemeyer, officially announced the move on Sunday.

The forward has earned 16 caps and scored 5 goals for the Swiss national team. He came through the FC Basel youth academy and has previously played for Luzern, St. Gallen, Rangers, Greuther Fürth, and Young Boys before joining Fortuna Düsseldorf. During his time at Düsseldorf, he made 32 official appearances and scored 16 goals.
