According to Cadena SER, Casemiro praised Messi during his presentation at Inter Miami, saying he had dreamt of playing alongside him every day.

Casemiro and Messi have been rivals for many years. The Brazilian once wore the Real Madrid jersey, while the Argentinian star played for Barcelona. However, after years of trying to stop each other, the two have met again, this time playing side by side on the same team, Inter Miami.
Casemiro stated at his presentation as Inter Miami’s new signing on Thursday local time: “I am living a dream, playing with one of the greatest in history.” He added that he wants to “always be with the best” and “dreams every day of being with him and playing with him.”
The rivalry between the two players lasted almost a decade, and Casemiro knows this well: "I knew it was impossible to stop him, I never truly stopped him, I always needed the help of my teammates." For this reason, Casemiro wants to "enjoy playing alongside him." He also said: "I want to win because he is a winner. When you are with another player who wants to win, who wants to compete, it pushes you to do the same."
The new Inter Miami signing said: "Winning and losing are always very close, we all know that, but what matters is competing, and I want to compete." He then described the Argentinian star, saying: "Messi is one of the gods of football, perhaps even the god of football."
The former Real Madrid midfielder is heading to MLS, where he will compete in his fifth different league. He has previously played in the Brazilian, Spanish, Portuguese, and English leagues and is now moving to the American league. After leaving Man United as a free agent, Casemiro could have joined other leagues. He said: "I had many options, including clubs in Italy, but I came to where I wanted to come, and most importantly, I want to play with the best." He also wants to "enjoy all of this, being with Messi, playing with him, to make this experience even greater."
Casemiro has already made his debut for his new club, Inter Miami, playing the full 90 minutes against Montreal. However, fans will have to wait to see him and Messi truly play together on the field, as the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner only returned to team training two days ago.
