According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona manager Flick and sporting director Deco disagree on the potential arrival of Villarreal striker Mikautadze.

Mikautadze is one of several attacking players linked with Barcelona in recent months. After failing to sign Atletico Madrid forward Julián Álvarez, Barcelona's hierarchy reportedly identified the Georgian international as an alternative target for the new season.

Mikautadze had a productive debut season in La Liga last season, directly contributing to 19 goals in 32 appearances.

However, as mentioned, one key figure within the Barcelona hierarchy is reportedly convinced the 25-year-old is ready to make the leap to Barcelona, while another remains unconvinced.

Gerard Romero stated on his personal channel this week: "As of today, August 13th, Flick has not fully assessed Villarreal player Mikautadze. Deco is completely in favor of him; Flick is not yet. We will see how this story ends, and most importantly, there are financial issues because Villarreal's asking price is very high."
