Arsenal and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Gabriel Jesus to the blaugranes. The Brazilian striker signs on as a culer for three seasons.

Arsenal and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Gabriel Jesus to the blaugranes. The Brazilian striker signs on as a culer for three seasons. 

Born in São Paulo, Brazil on 3 April 1997, Gabriel Jesus began his footballing career in his home town with Anhanguera. Then he made the move to the youth system to one of the country's biggest clubs, Palmerias of São Paulo. He made his debut for the team in March of 2015, winning the cup in 2015 and the league in 2016, and also was named best player in the Brazilian league in 2016. 

Brazil to Manchester City

His outstanding performances in Brazil earned him a move to Europe and in the summer of 2016, he signed for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. He made a total of 236 appearances for the Citizens, scoring 95 goals and providing 45 assists. During his time with the Sky Blues, he won four Premier League titles (2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21 and 2021/22), one FA Cup (2018/19), four League Cups (2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21) and two Community Shields (2018 and 2019).

From Manchester to London

In July 2022, he signed for Arsenal, where he went on to make 123 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists. In January 2025, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which kept him sidelined until December. He later helped the Gunners win the 2025/26 Premier League title, scoring three goals in 14 appearances.

Olympic and Copa América champion with Brazil 

At international level, Jesus began his career with Brazil's youth teams, specifically the U20 side. He was also part of the squad that won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, contributing three goals during the tournament.

He made his debut for the senior Brazil national team in September 2016 and was subsequently selected for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups. He was also included in Brazil's squads for the victorious 2019 Copa América campaign and the 2021 tournament.
