Jack Grealish has returned to Everton on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.

Jack Grealish has returned to Everton on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.

The 30-year-old forward – a serial trophy winner with City who has 39 England caps – quickly became a fans’ favourite on Merseyside last term, enjoying an impressive first loan campaign with the Toffees.

Winning the August award for Premier League Player of the Month, Grealish went on make 20 league appearances for Everton, recording two goals and six assists, before a foot injury in February ended his season.

Now fully fit following rehabilitation with the Blues’ medical team, Grealish rejoins David Moyes’ Men’s squad as the sixth acquisition of the summer transfer window after Merlin Röhl’s loan obligation was activated along with the signings of Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George, Christian Nørgaard and Brennan Johnson.

Delighted to be back at Everton, Grealish told evertontv: "It feels so good. I'm so happy. I think I'm at my best at everything in life, not just football, when I feel loved. That's what the manager has given me, what my teammates have given me and especially what the fans have given me.

"Every time I see an Everton fan, it's just pure love and the way they've welcomed me since that first game against Leeds, I'll never forget that. It means a lot to me and hopefully I've made a few Everton fans happy.

"I had a perfect time here for the first six months, then I stayed around after I got injured. I’ve been watching all the Everton games in pre-season and since the season started.

"Now I feel ready to go. I'm ready to start training tomorrow and prepare for the games."

For Grealish, memorable moments from his maiden campaign with the Toffees included picking up four assists in his opening two Premier League matches for Everton during victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion.

His last-gasp stoppage-time winner over Crystal Palace at Hill Dickinson Stadium in October was one of the most dramatic goals of the Toffees’ season.

So, too, was Grealish’s winning goal at Bournemouth in December – a late strike to secure an impressive victory at the Vitality Stadium.

On his strong relationship with manager Moyes, Grealish continued: “I love him, the manager. I think he’s such a great guy. He was a big reason why I wanted to come back here as well.

"I’ve had certain managers in the past where I feel I’ve played my best football under them – and he falls into that category, for sure.

"I had such a good connection with him – and the players here. I'm ready to play wherever the manager wants me and help as much as I can."

A vastly-experienced forward, Grealish has played 211 times in the Premier League across his career, made 39 appearances for England and won of host of trophies after switching from Aston Villa to Manchester City in 2021.

From 2021 to 2025, he was a key part of Pep Guardiola’s serial winners who claimed three Premier League titles, two FA Cups, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Grealish continued: "The Club has brought in some really good players over the summer, obviously Hayden [Hackney] from Middlesbrough, Christian Nørgaard and Brennan Johnson – there’s a lot of players like this that are proven in the Premier League. I look at our team now and I am excited by it. I am looking forward to see what we can all do together."

On the prospect of making his second Everton 'debut' against Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, Grealish added: "I can’t wait for this weekend. I have been doing everything I can in the past couple of months to get back to this moment.

"I will be going to sleep tonight with a smile on my face, ready for training tomorrow. I can’t wait to be back at Hill Dickinson on Sunday.”
