On September 3rd, Torino officially announced that Swiss international defender Rodríguez has rejoined the club on a free transfer, with both parties signing a 1+1 year contract.

Torino Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of player Rodríguez, with both parties signing until June 30, 2026, with an option for a one-year extension.

Rodríguez was born in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 25, 1992. He grew up in the Zurich youth academy and made his first-team debut on March 21, 2010, in a league match against Bellinzona. During his time with the Swiss club, he made 48 appearances in league and cup competitions combined, contributing 2 goals and 10 assists. In January 2012, he transferred to Wolfsburg. Wearing the Wolves' jersey in the Bundesliga, he made 184 appearances in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 28 assists, and won the DFB-Pokal in the 2014-15 season and the DFL-Supercup in the following year.

In June 2017, he joined AC Milan, entering Serie A, where he made 93 appearances total, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists. In the 2019-20 season, he was on loan at PSV Eindhoven, playing in 6 Eredivisie matches. In September 2020, Rodríguez moved to Torino, beginning a long career with the club: in four seasons, he made 129 appearances in Serie A and the Coppa Italia combined, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists.

In the summer of 2024, he joined Real Betis, and in the 2024-25 season, he made 34 appearances in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and European competitions, providing 3 assists.

At the national team level, he has a rich history, making his debut for the Swiss national team on October 7, 2011. Rodríguez has accumulated 144 appearances for the Swiss national team, scoring 9 goals, and has participated in multiple World Cups.
