According to Saudi media reports, Jeddah's Al-Ittihad Club has dismissed Portuguese sporting director Rui Pedro Braz, with details of the decision now emerging.

Al-Ittihad announced on Thursday the dismissal of Rui Pedro from his position as Sporting Director and appointed his deputy, Osama Hawsawi, as his successor.

Saudi League broadcaster "Thmanyah" reported that Rui Pedro's dismissal occurred following a meeting between players and executive management.

The meeting took place after Al-Ittihad's 0-3 defeat to arch-rival Al-Hilal in the third round of the Roshn League Saudi derby at Kingdom Arena last Tuesday.

Rui Pedro has served as Al-Ittihad's Sporting Director since October 2024, having previously held the same position at Benfica between 2021 and 2024.
