Javier Hernández was elected La Liga EA SPORTS Best U23 Player for August. The Espanyol midfielder provided 3 assists in the first three rounds of the league.

A product of Espanyol's youth academy, he spent last season on loan at Mirandés in La Liga 2. He started all three league matches against Levante (3-0), Real Madrid (1-2), and Real Sociedad (2-1), contributing an assist in each game.

After a final vote, Javier Hernández beat Javi Esparté (Barcelona), Arda Güler (Real Madrid), Sierra (Sevilla), and Zabiri (Racing Santander) to win the award.
