According to Footmercato, citing Sport, Jesus is eager to win the Champions League after joining Barcelona.

Jesus has been a Champions League runner-up twice, in 2021 with Manchester City and last season with Arsenal. He hopes the third attempt will fulfill his dream. Jesus said at his unveiling: "Ever since I knew I had the opportunity to come to Barcelona, I have had winning the Champions League in my mind. It's my dream."

The 29-year-old Jesus has accumulated rich Champions League experience, scoring 26 goals in 57 appearances, and will embark on his tenth European campaign. He will also compete with Raphinha for a spot in the attacking line. This Wednesday, Jesus will face Feyenoord, the team against which he scored his first Champions League goal while representing Manchester City in 2017.

Jesus is not the only summer signing for Barcelona who will play in the Champions League in a new capacity. Antony Gordon scored 10 goals for Newcastle United in the Champions League last season, five of which were penalties; Adeyemi has made 48 appearances and scored 16 goals for Borussia Dortmund in the competition. Rodri's statistics are relatively modest, with 3 goals total, but one was significant: he scored the winning goal against Inter Milan in the 2023 Champions League final, helping Manchester City lift the trophy. For Jesus, this new European journey with Barcelona also gives him another chance to erase one of the main regrets of his career.
