According to German media FussballTransfers, Freiburg's 25-year-old full-back Philipp Treu has revealed that he has already spoken with Germany national team coach Jürgen Klopp. With the German squad set to be announced on Thursday, Treu is expected to receive his first national team call-up.

Treu said in an interview with Sky Sports and RTL: "Whether I'll be selected on Thursday, we'll find out then. What I can say is that I've already spoken with the national team coach. We took the opportunity to get to know each other, so I can only give positive feedback about this conversation."
Since the start of this season, Treu has performed exceptionally well at Freiburg, establishing himself as the team's starting right-back. He previously played for the German U19 national team but has not yet been called up to the German senior national team.
Speaking about his first conversation with Klopp, Treu said: "It was a very good conversation, and it gave me the chance to understand his thoughts and his plans. Overall, everything was very positive."
