Ali Al-Mury, Assistant Secretary of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, stated that Kuwait has lodged a formal complaint with the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee regarding the denial of entry visas for three Kuwaiti national team players.

According to Al-Mury, Kuwait has filed a formal complaint with the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games, requesting an explanation for why three players from the Kuwait national men's football team were denied entry to Japan despite holding official accreditation issued by the Organizing Committee, which was valid for entry into the host country.

Al-Mury stated that the Kuwait Olympic Committee completed all required procedures and submitted all necessary documents for the Kuwaiti delegation, including the three players, to the Organizing Committee within the deadline. These materials were provided by the Kuwait Football Association in accordance with standard procedures.

He noted that the Organizing Committee issued official accreditation after receiving the players' information and passport documents. The three players held travel documents issued under Article 17, but Japanese authorities at Nagoya Airport denied them entry. Al-Mury added that the Kuwaiti delegation first arrived in Bangkok and then flew to Japan, presenting their passports and official accreditation upon arrival, but the authorities at Nagoya Airport still refused entry.

He emphasized that the Kuwait Olympic Committee immediately contacted relevant parties upon learning of the issue and took necessary steps to resolve the matter, working to reunite the players with the team so they could participate in the competition. Al-Mury extended his sincere thanks to Sheikh Jaber Sabah, Chargé d'Affaires of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Japan, for his efforts and coordination in resolving this issue.

Al-Mury concluded by stating that the Kuwait Olympic Committee will fully protect the rights and interests of Kuwaiti athletes and ensure they can represent Kuwait in all international sports events.
