The Tottenham Hotspur head coach has been making his mind up on a large number of players who returned to the club this summer

Ange Postecoglou had a good look at most of Tottenham's 10 returning loan players on tour in Australia and Asia and now he will know whether he wants to keep them or not.

The Australian told football.london during the tour that he had brought a huge squad with him - 31 travelling and six left at home - in order to get more clarity for him and the returning loan players over whether they will be part of his plans next season at Spurs.

Here are our thoughts on every one of them and whether they will be part of the Australian's squad for the coming Premier League campaign.

Destiny Udogie

The 20-year-old Italian adapted seamlessly to the Postecoglou way, scoring once and settling well into the squad.

Udogie's experience as a full-back with Italy's U21s meant he was not arriving from his loan back at Udinese purely as a wing-back needing to be moulded into a left-back. He rarely looked troubled defensively on the tour although he admits that's an area he still needs to continue to learn in at his age.

He also got forward well with that headed goal from Ivan Perisic's corner and his raids down the left set up a few chances for others, including Harry Kane early on in the win in Singapore.

Postecoglou has already said he can see himself using Udogie and Pedro Porro together at times as full-backs so the Italian is likely to be a big part of his plans this season.

Giovani Lo Celso

The Argentine returned to Spurs after nearly 18 months away from the club at Villarreal and most people expected him to leave again this summer.

Instead Lo Celso has found a fan in Postecoglou, fitting his style perfectly, scoring a goal in each of the two games and showing that his blend of energy, aggression and creativity is exactly what the Australian wants.

Reports in Spain suggested Postecoglou has already told Lo Celso that he wants him to stay next season and be part of his plans so football.london asked the Spurs boss if there was any truth in it.

"I’m here mate you don’t have to go all the way to Spain, just ask the question!" he wise-cracked with a smile before saying. "Yeah, I’m really happy with Gio. He’s been really good in training.

"You can see he’s a quality player and I think the way we play suits him. I’ve enjoyed working with him and I think he’s enjoying himself in terms of the football we want to play and yeah it’s going well."

Sergio Reguilon

With excitement around Udogie and Postecoglou having told football.london that Ben Davies is going to be a top left-back for him, that appears to leave Reguilon as the odd man out.

The Spaniard has played his part in the tour, getting plenty of minutes, but he showed plenty of the old pros and cons he had shown for the club before his difficult injury-hit loan season at Atletico Madrid. Reguilon shows plenty of endeavour going forward but his defending is often inconsistent.

With Udogie and Davies a good mix of youth and experience for Postecoglou and the latter able to fill in at centre-back at a push then it seems likely Reguilon will be playing his football elsewhere this season.

Tanguy Ndombele

Postecoglou had praised Ndombele ahead of the tour and it seemed like the door might just be open for the Frenchman to walk through.

The 26-year-old was all set to start in the first half of the game against West Ham, only to pick up an ankle injury in the training game the night before in Perth. When he came back it must have been decided that he wasn't quite fit enough as he was not included in either subsequent matchday squad.

The next couple of weeks will tell us whether Ndombele ended up losing his chance and Lo Celso took it.

Bryan Gil

It would have been a big disappointment for the young Spaniard to miss out on the tour with a back injury because on paper he fits plenty of what Postecoglou wants from his wingers.

Gil is a busy, hard-working forward able to press constantly, dribble and create. His physical stature needs to be worked on for the Premier League still but the Australian will hope to have a proper look at him before making a decision on his future.

Manor Solomon's performances on both flanks could prove an issue for Gil, while youngster Alfie Devine also showed an ability to give West Ham plenty of problems down the right.

Gil's heart lies in Spain and it will be interesting to see whether this injury set-back ends up indirectly deciding his Tottenham future.

Djed Spence

Spence never got a look in during the fortnight in Australia and Asia. The right back was coming back from an injury that had made his involvement in the tour a touch and go decision until the week before the squad departed.

It may be that his fitness levels were not enough to handle Postecoglou football yet and the sports science staff wanted to build him up slowly, but it's tough to see the young wide man getting past Emerson Royal and Pedro Porro in the pecking order at the moment.

A loan move looks best for all parties to allow Spence to get some game time and develop.

Joe Rodon

Like Spence, Rodon never really got an opportunity on this tour. He was not selected in any of the three matchday squads and in training was left to play small-sided games with those players coming back from injury or just not set to be involved.

Rodon was not injured and the Wales international will surely now leave this summer as Postecoglou was seemingly not convinced enough with what he saw to give him a chance in a match situation, despite the unimpressive displays from a number of those who played instead.

Dane Scarlett

The young striker never got the opportunity to show Postecoglou what he could do either but his missed chance was down to injury which kept him out of contention for training and the match in Perth against West Ham.

Scarlett returned to training as the tour made its way to Asia but with the strong bench and his lower fitness levels, the academy product did not get the chance to enter the fray in the final match against Lion City Lions.

Unless Postecoglou decides to keep him around to learn, the likelihood is that Scarlett will get another season on loan to develop.

Harvey White

The versatile midfielder, who was seen at left-back in some training sessions on the tour, seems to be unlikely to get chances this year at Spurs.

White spent the second half of last season on loan at Derby and despite his talent on the ball and that versatility, the lack of football on the horizon under Postecoglou will in all likelihood point him towards the exit door at the north London club as he looks to make his way as a first team regular somewhere.

Troy Parrott

The young Republic of Ireland international didn't even get the chance to go on the tour due to a troublesome groin injury.

Parrott is yet to show Postecoglou what he can do at all. Its more likely that he will head out on loan again this season as he looks to improve his goal tally as a senior player.
